Dungeons & Dragons' EBERRON: RISING FROM THE LAST WAR Is Finally Here

It’s finally here! Eberron: Rising from the Last War is the latest sourcebook for Dungeons & Dragons, and it is fantastic. It provides a lot of information for the world of Eberron. If you don’t know what Eberron is, it’s a world in D&D where magic has helped influence technology to create something akin to magical steampunk. Mix that with some noir, and you’ve got Eberron.

Rising from the Last War not only features the history of Eberron, but also walks you through some possible patrons that your adventuring party may come across as well as information about the cultures they’re likely to meet. Combine that with information for most races including goblinoids and how they fit into the world, and you’ve got a fantastic book.

Of course, many will love Rising from the Last War because it brings us the official rules for the Artificer class and its three subclasses. The Artificer is pretty awesome and is kind of like a magical inventor. Not only can you make cool stuff, but you can also typically infuse objects with magic! It’s pretty cool.

Dragonmarks also make a return in this book and typically serve as a variant subrace for the appropriate race. Each dragonmark typically connects your character to one of the houses of Eberron and grants you some magical abilities.

Some people have been curious as to what makes Rising from the Last War different from Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron, and the short answer is that there’s a lot. Rising from the Last War takes Wayfinder’s Guide and expounds upon it. If you want a nifty graphic, here’s one from Sage Advice showing a basic breakdown of differences:

The tall and short is that if you want to run a campaign in Eberron, you will want Rising from the Last War. It has everything you need and is so much fun to read. You can purchase Rising from the Last War at your favorite games retailers including Amazon, D&D, D&D Beyond, and Roll20 (includes compendium expansion, charactermancer integration, and more).
