Favorite tools for Pacific Northwest gardeners

These days when I head out the door to tackle my garden chores, weeding is at the top of my to-do list. I let it go earlier when I should have been out  there and now I am working on a carpet of purple-blue: Spanish bluebells (

Hyacinthoides hispanica

) are taking over my shady garden spot, jostling the heuchera, columbine and peonies I WANT to see in there. They're one of

, which I have in several other beds. So far I'm averting my eyes from the dandelions in my lawn because I never seem to get ahead of them.

So I grab the little bag of tools when I head out, but mostly I'm using my my hand weeder, garden gloves and a bucket. It got me thinking about favorite garden tools and how different folks define it.

I'm hoping my go-to tool can soon be a trowel for adding some more plants, to my beds or containers. Or maybe, if I ever get ahead of the weeds, I'll get lucky and it can just be a chair to sit in and admire my husband's and my handiwork.
