Richard Rolloff of Happy Valley offered this idea to get a jump on veggie gardening:
"Kind of early for tomatoes, so I put my Wall o' Water to work protecting early peas. Soil is warmer, and it kept recent snow off foliage. I figure my peas are about three weeks ahead of those planted in same raised bed. Also kept slugs out, if planting area is clean to start with. We seldom think of warming for cool-season vegetables. Worth rethinking?"
