I need a script Linux script that will first search for files then move then rename.
Here is the situation,
On the server some files got duplicated and one of the duplicates got this appended to it “(drr-server's conflicted copy 2012-02-07)”
I need to find all the files that have both been appended with “(drr-server's conflicted copy 2012-02-07)” and also the once that was not, move the ones that was not appended to another folder then remove move the appended info from the file.
Here is an example of the files;
Find files that are like this;
Mattress Co. Proposal His and GM 6.6.11 (drr-server's conflicted copy 2012-02-07).xls
Mattress Co. Proposal His and GM [login to view URL]
Then move “Mattress Co. Proposal His and GM [login to view URL]” to anther folder, while maintain where it came from
Then renaming “Mattress Co. Proposal His and GM 6.6.11 (drr-server's conflicted copy 2012-02-07).xls” to Mattress Co. Proposal His and GM [login to view URL]
Let me know if that makes sense and if you can do it
I can do this easily. I am an experienced BASH script programmer and a graduate in Electronics and Communication.
Please check the PMB for details on how this can be done easily.
