I am systems engineer for an Online Video Platform ([login to view URL]) and we deliver our service over Wowza Media Server running on EC2 instances. My workload has me concentrating right now on fine-tuning our Wowza/EC2 load balancing setup, as well as designing load balancing for our EC2-hosted FTP servers.
We have been running Wowza on EC2 for over a year, but originally we were running Wowza as live repeater edge servers sucking their feeds from another network's FMS server. Now that we've moved our origin to EC2 as well live is much easier.
The load balancing setup designed by Wowza works well, but the initial setup can be a bit hairy.
Is your plan to allow the load balancing server to function as an edge server as well?
