Hi,
I have a fax server that works with a HTTP api.
We can send it fax jobs using POST, GET directly or POST/GET JSON requests.
I need a printer driver that works on Windows, Mac and Linux and that can use that API and also read answers back from the API (all answers are JSON encoded, but i can configure the fax server to send other type of encodings if you need me to) -- for examples read error messages or maybe read a message like {'success': true,message:'queued'}
I would need your printer fax driver to send the images as tiff. Other formats work as well (such as pdf, .doc , .xls, etc, but I wouldn't want the overhead of the conversion process on the fax server).
When clicking the print button, the print driver would ask the phone number this fax needs to go to.
I need to be able to customize some parameters , since the fax server is using username/password pairs to allow access to the API. So I would need to be able to define these (a text file will do, as long as there's a way for the printer driver to always know about this file - even in cases where -- for example -- the Windows folder is on D and there's no C drive, or whatever else. For Mac / Linux -- probably the user's home folder)
Some free software (open source) that you might want to look over:
