discoDSP has announced that a beta version of HighLife for Mac OS X is now available. 64-bit Audio Units and VST are supported.
HighLife is a Freeware sampler with VSTi sampling, sample editor, five built in effects, flexible modulation, parameter morphing and highest offline resampling quality using 512 point SINC.
As it's free, they ask for donations to support HighLife development at discodsp.com/highlife. You can report bugs and feedback in their forum.
Known issues:
- Audio Units validation tool will report warnings. Manual enabling is required.
- Performance / Editor View drop down is misplaced.
- SFZ, SFZ, AKAI, GIG or DLS import may crash the host.
The following functions are disabled due to code rewrite:
- Sampling external VSTi (VSTi, GUI, >MIDI, Freeze and Unload buttons).
- Editor > Time Stretch.
- Editor > Pitch Shift.
