Watch: It’s U2’s Larry Mullen, Jr. in the “Man on the Train” Remake

Ever wanted to see U2’s drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. act? Well, here’s your chance.

In the English-language remake of Patrice Leconte’s award-winning French film of the same name, “Man on the Train,” Mullen plays a mysterious thief who rolls into a small town to rob a local bank. His plans veer off track when he meets a retired poetry professor (Donald Sutherland) who envies the criminal’s position. Mary McGuckian directs.

Mullen’s casting is pretty tongue-in-cheek when you consider who originated the role: French pop star and actor Johnny Hallyday. Whether he has the chops to pull the performance off remains to be seen. Judging by the trailer, he holds his own against Sutherland and that’s no easy feat.

Tribeca Film will open “Man on the Train” on demand October 28, with a limited theatrical release to follow.
