Madonna has praised singer Beth Ditto, calling her "great".

The Queen of Pop was impressed by the American musician's performance of her classic hit Vogue, her manager Guy Oseary has revealed.

Beth, who is frontwoman of The Gossip, sang her own version of the song at a party at Moscow Miller party.

A clip of the curvy singer belting out Vogue and dancing on stage in just her underwear has found its way on the internet and has attracted a lot of attention from fans.

Beth is well known for her energetic and scantily-clad performances - and it seems her confident performance went down well with the Queen of Pop.

"I just showed Madonna the video of Beth Ditto performing Vogue at Moscow Miller party," Guy wrote on social networking site Twitter. "She thought Beth was great..."

The track was originally released in 1990 and created a cult dance, also described as "vogueing", which features a variety of hand moves and the line "strike a pose".

Vogue became one of the singer's biggest hits, topping the charts in over 30 countries and selling over 6 million copies worldwide.
