My project involves the modification of the standard bootloader provided by Microchip for my specific application.
I use two processors from Microchip. One is the PIC18F97J60 and the second is the smaller PIC18F46K20. The F97 interfaces with the outside world via RS-232.
I need to modify the standard bootloader software provided by Microchip to upload firmware to the F97 or F46.
I am a former software engineer myself but I haven't programmed in assembly since 1984. I have studied the code and believe that the bootloader on the F46 will not have to be modified. However, the bootloader for the F97 and the PC firmware uploader will need to be modified to point to the F46 as needed. See the attached diagram to explain the relationship between chips.
Deliverables: Bootloader firmware for the F97 and revised C++ PC firmware uploader.
We are a start up company so price and speed are very important.
I will only evaluate individuals that have experience with MicroChip or similar firmware bootloaders.
Thank you for your evaluation of this project.
