Dan Loebrich of Loebrich Contracting, Inc. has been in business since 1979 offering residential remodeling services in south western Pennsylvania. Moving Outdoors

In 2008, Loebrich Contracting added outdoor living and shade solutions to their list of offerings, and it’s grown to become a major part of their business. 

Loebrich decided to move into the outdoor shading business in 2008 in response to the slowdown in remodeling projects due to the recession. They also saw a need in their area for shade solutions from customers looking to better utilize their outdoor spaces. 

With vast experience in construction going back all the way to 1979, Loebrich Contracting knew they would be a great asset to area customers. Now Loebrich sells, furnishes and installs a wide variety of awnings, solar screens and window treatments. Outdoor Challenges and Motorized Solutions

Loebrich’s shade customers are looking to shade their decks or patios from high temperatures and harsh sun. But finding the right solutions isn’t always a snap. The challenge is almost always finding the best way to connect the retractable awning to the existing construction.  

Loebrich Contracting goes to great lengths to find the wall framing, then shim between the house cladding and vinyl or aluminum siding so that when the awning is installed, it does not crush the siding. This makes for a great finished appearance! 

Loebrich Contracting finds Somfy motorization to be especially beneficial on the larger retractable awnings and shades that might be difficult to access. The quiet and reliable Somfy motor takes all the work out of extending and retracting your awning. In addition, being a Somfy Expert gives them access to the latest products and trainings on motorized awnings, shades and window treatments. 

Most of their retractable awnings feature automatic wind sensing technology that monitors movement of the awning and sends a signal to the motor to retract once a predetermined threshold has been met. This protects awnings from the elements and gives homeowners peace-of-mind. 

On projects with more than one motorized shade or awning, Loebrich Contracting can program all of the motors to be controlled from one remote. A Wide Variety of Solutions

This customer was looking to shade his entire deck, but the construction of his house made it difficult. Loebrich Contracting had to build an additional extension to his roof line, which they were able to do because of their expertise in remodeling and carpentry.  They added approximately three feet in width and an additional support post in order to facilitate installation of an awning that would cover the customer’s entire deck. Now he has it made in the shade!

Due to the low height of the customer’s overhang, this awning required a roof mount and metal protective hood.  Loebrich Contracting also added a roll-down solar shade to the front of this awning in order to prevent the late day sun from sneaking in under the awning.

This lakefront home in Somerset County was an exciting challenge. The customers were looking for shade on their deck, but were very limited as to what they could do due to the construction of the house. Loebrich Contracting was able to install a cassette-style awning, which has a low mounting profile of five inches. This was just enough room to squeak in between the tops of their doors and bottoms of their architectural windows. This awning is 26 feet wide, has a 13 foot projection and just looks fantastic on this house. A Somfy motor powers this giant awning!  

Due to an offset to the exterior wall of the home, this job required a roof mount awning with protective hood. The homeowner was very pleased with the appearance of the finished product.

This home started out as a very modest cabin. Over the years, it had fallen into disrepair.  When the customer purchased the property they embarked on an extensive top to bottom addition and renovation. He had Loebrich Contracting install two full cassette awnings.  

These awnings feature Somfy motors and wind sensors, plus frames and hardware color matched to their trim work. These awnings provide shade into the great room, as well as providing a great place to enjoy morning coffee out on the deck.  The awnings are very impressive looking when they are both extended.  

This customer had been turned down by a few other awning companies who told her that what she wanted could not be done due to the shape and construction of her house. Loebrich Contracting were able to accommodate her needs by blending components from both a wall installation and a roof mount installation. The customer was thrilled with the results!   

This is a great looking awning that provides shade at poolside and also for the recreation room windows. This sizable awning measures 26’ x 13’ and is powered by a Somfy motor and wind sensor.  

This retractable awning provides shade for the hot tub and hammock during the day, and retracts at night when the stars come out. Talk about having the perfect place to kick back and relax after a long day!
