Audio slideshow: 'London Calling'

It took pride of place in record collections when it was released in 1979, but arguably its distinctive sleeve, and not just The Clash's music, has helped sustain London Calling's popularity for three decades.

Back then, the cover's creator - artist Ray Lowry - was inspired by Elvis Presley's debut album. Now, in tribute to Ray, 30 artists have sought inspiration from him to produce their own interpretations of London Calling.

Here, two of them - The Clash's former road manager Johnny Green, and artist John Butterworth - look back at Ray Lowry's life and legacy.
