The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday nabbed a man impersonating a flight captain. The person was identified as Rajan Mahbubani from New Delhi. Rajan was caught dressed as a captain of the German airline Lufthansa. He even had a fake identity card to reinforce the get-up.

Rajan did so to get privileges at the airport.

Rajan was arrested at the Terminal-3 of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport after a CISF official got suspicious of Rajan's conduct. The official then called up Lufthansa's chief security officer (CSO) to verify if Rajan was indeed a flight captain with the airline. Lufthansa's CSO Aditya Singh Pathani told the CISF official that they had no such flight captain with that name.

Fake Lufthansa flight captain Rajan was located at a boarding gate at the IGI Airport and was nabbed. Rajan was about to board a Kolkata-bound Air Asia flight. During interrogation, Rajan revealed that he had procured the fake identity card in Bangkok and used it to get privileges at airports.

He was offloaded and handed over to IGI Airport police.
