"Arizona's immigration law spreads
Grassroots organization counts 12 states considering similar legislation

A national grassroots organization that fights illegal immigration is boasting that Arizona's controversial new immigration-enforcement law is an idea that's catching on.

According to a statement from the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, as many as 12 other states have legislators who are already pushing or considering drafting legislation similar to Arizona's S.B. 1070, which requires local law enforcement officers during the course of a "lawful stop, detention or arrest" to ask for proof of citizenship or legal immigration status and turn those without it over to federal authorities for deportation.

"We are excited to see so many Americans who represent the 60 – 81 percent of U.S. citizens who support Arizona's S.B. 1070 contacting their state lawmakers to ask for similar legislation," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "Our network of over 30,000 supporters started asking other states to follow Arizona weeks before Governor Brewer signed the bill. We will not stop until we have S.B. 1070 protecting American jobs, wages, health and lives in all 50 states.""

Arizona's immigration law spreads

New Yorkers without documents can now freely immigrate into Vermont.

Vermont cows without papers can freely immigrate to New York State if they can swim across the lake.

Illinois won't be one of them, we're doomed cause we have Dicky Turban as our most liberal hack senator!

And, of course Chicago and we all know that the crooks in Chicago wouldn't go against their beloved ZERO!

If Rick Perry has anything to say about it, Texas won’t be one of those states adopting a tough new immigration law.

One of our lawmakers was quoted in the press as saying that he would introduce such a bill in the next legislative session, and Perry immediately responded that he didn’t think that Arizona’s law was “right for Texas.”

I don’t know about that, Rick. The political will in this state may force your hand to sign that bill.

I think we will. If this bill is introduced in our legislature, and passed, there's going to be an unprecedented public outcry for Perry to sign it into law.

The public, and political pressure for him to do so will be enormous.

RINO sob. If we had had a decent candidate I wouldn’t have voted for him.
My vote was against La Raza candidate Debra Medina and the WA RINO Kay Bailey Hutcheson.

We’ve GOT to put the pressure on him to adopt the AZ law!

Same here. I wanted a better choice the last go-round, but we didn't have anyone better to oppose old Goodhair then, either.

Yes. We've got to put the pressure on him to sign that bill when it hits his desk. I think the whole state is gonna rattle and roll when that comes up.

Below is a sample letter that you can send to your Texas Representative and Senator urging them to either introduce, co-sponsor, or support the passing of a bill similar to Arizona’s new law.

You can copy and paste the letter below into your word processor then make the needed changes.

You can find your State Representative’s mailing address at the link below.

Find your State Senator’s mailing address below:

State Rep. _______________
__________________________
Austin, TX 78701

Dear Rep. ___________,

Due to federal and Congressional inaction, Arizona has just enacted a great piece of immigration enforcement legislation (SB 1070). We believe our state should pass strong enforcement legislation, too, and we encourage you to make this occur.

Currently, 8 million illegal aliens have jobs while more than 15 million Americans, as well as large numbers of immigrants already legally here, are unemployed. Every job filled by an illegal alien could be filled by an American or legal immigrant if the employer paid a fair wage. As it stands, employers continue to take advantage of illegal aliens who are willing to work for substandard wages, disadvantaging jobless American and legal immigrant workers. I am sure I do not need to remind you that our state has been affected by this jobs depression.

If illegal aliens are able to live freely in our state, and employers are able to employ them at dimes on the dollar, then Americans and legal aliens residing in our state will continue to remain unemployed. Is this what you want for our state? Is this why you ran for public office? I hope not.

I encourage you to examine Arizona’s laws, including the 2007-passed E-Verify law and the just-enacted SB 1070. After doing so, I am positive you will determine that similar legislation would benefit our state. Now is the time to act, given the national interest in Arizona’s measure.

You were elected to do what’s best for our state. Please don’t let your constituents down.

Sincerely,

Below is a link to Arizona’s new law.

Thanks rxsid.

All,

Call the campaign office of every Republican (Democrat too) running for local/state office and get either them directly or their policy assistant on the line for a definitive thumbs UP or thumbs DOWN on the new 2010 Arizona immigration enforcement law. Tell them that their answer will determine your vote. Do not let on to your own position when you call them, i.e. ask the question in as neutral a manner as you can, and throw in confusing narrative buzzwords in your questions, such as, use "undocumented migrants" and "illegals", "human rights/social justice for immigrants" and "border sovereignty" in the same sentence. Do NOT let them ask YOU your position first. Take copious notes, note names, post results here on Free Republic. We can use Arizona as a tire iron to pry off the oppressive reign of border chaos terror we have been under for nearly 30 plus years. But we need to know where each of our local officials or those running for state and local office stand this year. I suggest this as a Freeper Wide movement for the next few months with this thread or others as a place to share stories, synopses of telephone calls, honor and dishonor lists, etc.

We must buy Arizona products, we must visit Arizon, and we must spread the Arizona law to our other states through sympathetic local representatives who will run with the ball. Either as introduced State law, or through initiative and petition in time for general election of 2010.

I agree. Maybe if each state follows Arizona's example, Washington will realize just how serious the American people are....Washington meaning members of the House and Senate who feel they are are entitled to their seats .

Zero is really going to sh*t his panties when the states send him the bill for doing the feds job. It is time all the states pass an identical bill, round up the illegals, ship them back to Mexico and send the feds the bill.
