Cardiff Civic Society will host a Question Time style debate for all party candidates

We'e just received notice of a hustings to be held next week at Chapter Arts Centre - Our Cardiff is an all parties question time event organised by Cardiff Civic Society.

Here's what Cardiff Civic Society say about the event:

Five Cardiff parliamentary candidates are to appear in an election forum organised by Cardiff Civic Society to debate and be questioned about Cardiff's future. The event, the first of its kind, takes place at Chapter Arts Centre on Thursday 29th April at 7pm. Admission is free.

Chair Peter Cox said:

"Cardiff Civic Society is a membership organisation and charity that aims to conserve, sustain and develop the natural and built environment of the city for the benefit of current and future generations.

"Of course politicians directly affect the quality of our built and natural environment. In Cardiff a lot of that influence is by the city council and the National Assembly Government, but much power over Wales - especially to create a sustainable economy on which creating our quality of life depends - is still exerted by Westminster. We feel it is important to give members of the society, and the public a chance to hear the views of the main parties on what they want for the future of the city."

The five politicians taking part are Chris Franks Plaid Cymru AM for South Wales Central, Jake Griffiths Green Party, Dominic Hannigan parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrats in Cardiff South and Penarth, Angela Jones-Evans Conservative candidate for Cardiff West and Alun Michael current Labour MP for Cardiff South and Penarth, all chaired by BBC Wales Welsh ffairs editor Vaughan Roderick.

There will also be a Cardiff West election debate on international development held tomorrow (Wednesday 21) at 7pm at Canton Uniting Church, Cowbridge Road East, next to Somerfield.
