Grammy-winning singer Celine Dion gave birth on Saturday to twin boys, her representatives said.
Dion, 42, had the twins by Caesarean section shortly after 11 a.m. at a Florida hospital. The Canadian-born singer and husband Rene Angelil also have a 9-year-old son.
“Celine, Rene and their son Rene-Charles are thrilled,” Dion’s representative told People magazine, which was first to report the birth. The babies were born healthy but premature and will spend the next few days in an incubator, People reported.

Dion, best known for hits such as “My Heart Will Go On,” was hospitalized earlier this month on the recommendation of her doctors to prevent the early delivery of her babies. “Celine is resting now and they plan to discuss what to name the boys when she wakes up,” the representative told People.

Dion is due to return to Las Vegas in March 2011 for a three-year concert residency at Caesar’s Palace.
