Take That Star DJs @ Judgement Sunday (July 12)

Reported by News Editor / Submitted 11-07-09 14:07

Howard Donald headlines Judge Jules’ Judgement Sunday this weekend (Sunday July 12) just a week after finishing a sell out UK tour with Take That which saw him performing to tens of thousands of screaming fans.

The pop star/ DJ will be spinning in Eden’s 500 capacity Room 2 on the night (right after Jonty Skrufff) in keeping with his love of intimate venues, a point he emphasised in an interview with German magazine Electronic Beats in 2007.

“I find playing in front of 500 people is better than playing in front of 1500 people. (It’s) more packed and more close together and the DJ box kind of on the same level with the people,” he explained, “Sometimes you can play for a crowd and you kind of stand on the first floor. And when you’re looking down on them, there’s no feeling really - no connection.”

The Sun, meanwhile, reported that Gatecrasher are so concerned about his fans getting over-excited at an upcoming gig that they’re tripling security around the DJ booth. Both gigs are amongst just a handful he’s playing through choice, he explained.

“It would have been easy to cash in on the Take That thing and tour all the commercial clubs, but that would go against everything I stand for,” said Howard.

“Music is my life, I love nothing more than playing house music to an appreciative crowd,” he added.
