      Great Food & Vibes

Came here to watch the Gervontae vs Romelo fight. $20 cover charge. If you're coming to watch a big game/fight come in early to get good seats because it gets packed!

Order drinks & food at the bar, they give you a number. I feel it was a bit unorganized for as busy as it gets but there is always room for growth right. Park at your own risk!

Also they play good music before, in between and after and it gets crackin! Loved it!

Not sure if I was just starving from Wine Tasting all day, but the food hit the spot for me!!!

      Combo #3 8/10
Fried Chicken- was ok needed more seasoning
Fried Prawns- they knew what they were doing
Fried Catfish - fried to perfection
Fries - could have been fried harder

They have Crab, Lobster, Fried Rice & Garlic Noodles. I will definitely try that next time!

Bad vibes and bad service up in this place. Security is real tight. Feels like Im going into an airport or something. I know the staff works hard and means well but there is bad some juju going on here and I doubt Ill go out of my way to go there again.

      UPDATE
      5 people shot last night.

Halftime is one of those hit or miss places that you always seem to end up at anyway. When bar hopping downtown on the weekend, this is often the last place on our list--but it's still on the list. There's okay drinks, the music is usually pretty good, but you're definitely not coming to Halftime for the ambiance. The place is a lot more bearable during a regular weekday when catching a drink while you watch the game. There's nothing totally wrong with Halftime, there's just nothing special about it either. It's one of those "it'll do" spots you find when all you're looking for is a venue and a beverage. So, if you're just looking for somewhere to watch the game on a weekday, it's worth a visit. But if you're looking for a good bar on the weekend, Halftime probably isn't going to cut it.

I had a really good time here. I was in the thick of Raider nation watching the playoff game against the Bengals and the atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. I actually sat next to a guy that was a 30 year season ticket holder. The food was on point. I had Lemon Pepper Wings and the Garlic Noodles w/ Prawns. Both were very good. The one negative is that they need at least one more bartender and they need servers on the floor. The wait time to order was a bit excessive. All in all it was a great experience and I will definitely be back my next visit to Oakland.

Lemon Pepper Wings I asked with no fries and it was the same price

Good bar food, good drinks, reasonable price, music is always good, friendly staff.

Parking can be challenging as there is hardly ever parking near, so your left to park a block or 2 away and walk in a not so good area.

As far as sports bars go, it's got everything you need. Plenty of TVs, plenty of seating. Even have a padded bleacher type seating section. Great selection of liquor and a great selection of rotating taps as well as bottles and cans. Oh, and they just happen to have the best bar food around. And everything is fresh and made to order too! They don't even own a microwave! Bartenders are all super cool, talk to 'em, say hi. They all pour heavy too. And the prices are great. And during Happy Hour, well they gotta be losing money on the food because ain't no way.

And for you Oakland/East Bay natives, with each day that passes Oakland feels less and less like Oakland. The Half is one of the few places left that reminds me of the Oakland I grew up in. Last of a dying breed. Support local, support black owned!

My friend & I, who are from out of state, entered the facility around 3:30pm solely for the purpose of watching the Alabama / Oklahoma football game. Around 7:00pm we were told in a veryyyyy rude & unprofessional manner that we had to get a wrist band from the front door for "fight night". Mind you we are now on our 3rd drink and just placed our food order. We were being kicked out by a guy, who never identified himself in Oakland warriors gear (hat & shirt), stating rudely, "people are hardheaded.... y'all can go to another bar to watch the game, it's fight night."

Needless to say, we canceled our food order & left. We are now @ Lukas Lounge and they HAVE all of the ingredients to the cocktails that we want. Yes, we settled earlier. HALFTIME BAR was out of Red Bull & Hennessy, out ginger beer for our moscow mule, etc.

We are now @ Lukas Lounge, a much more customer friendly, customer appreciated environment.
