17 community cleanup days planned for Tacoma neighborhoods

The City of Tacoma will partner with more than 30 Tacoma neighborhood groups this spring and summer as part of the 2016 Community Cleanup program.

“The Community Cleanup program is a great partnership between the community and the City to promote healthy and clean neighborhoods,” said City of Tacoma Neighborhood and Community Services Division Manager Lisa Wojtanowicz. “It is wonderful to see that residents are still using the program and that we are able to provide this opportunity.”

The program, which accepts applications from Tacoma neighborhood groups for one cleanup day per calendar year, has reached capacity again this year. The City provides dumpsters for residential customers who live in single-family homes or duplexes on their neighborhood’s day to clean up their properties and save a trip to the Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center.

The complete cleanup schedule is available online at cityoftacoma.org/communitycleanup.
