Review: Bringing Home the Bad Boy (Second Chance #1) by Jessica Lemmon

Bringing Home the Bad Boy sat on my shelf for way to long and with the upcoming release of the fourth book in the series, I decided it was time to dive in. I am so glad I did, I’m hooked! This had everything in it that I love in a story. Can’t wait to read the rest!

The Bad Boy Is Back

Evan Downey needs a new beginning. Since the death of his wife five years ago, the brilliant tattoo artist has shut himself away in a prison of grief that not even his work can break him out of-and what's worse, Evan knows his son Lyon is bearing the brunt of his seclusion. Moving back to the lake town of Evergreen Cove where he spent his childhood summers is his last chance for a fresh start.

Charlotte Harris knows she owes it to her best friend's memory to help Evan and his son find their way again, but she can't stop her traitorous heart from skipping a beat every time she looks into Evan's mesmerizing eyes. Charlotte is determined to stay strictly in the Friend Zone-until a mind-blowing night knocks that plan by the wayside. Now, if they're brave enough to let it, Charlotte and Evan might just find a love capable of healing their broken hearts . . .

5 out of 5 stars

I loved this so very much. Excellent story full of heart and laughter and love and a whole lot of sexy. It was everything I adore in a great read!

This was just a fantastic read for me. Evan and Charlie were so great and I loved them together. And Lyon, such a sweetheart. Evan, though, that man has my heart. So strong after having gone through so much and still willing to put himself out there. I just wanted to hug him. He's so patient and kind, I couldn't get enough. I adored Charlie. I totally got her and her feelings and this dilemma she was battling within herself. Loved their attraction and chemistry as well. It was loving and flirty, super hot and sensual but there were these fun moments that I found entertaining as well. There were so many emotional, heartfelt moments that had me choking up too. There was a good build and balance of all of it.

Loved getting to know Asher and how fun he and Evan were together. Asher definitely had personality. Love the story developing with him and Gloria. Makes me totally excited to read his book, Return of the Bad Boy. He seems like such a sweet and genuine guy but he's a bit messed up. Cannot wait to see what happens with him.

The writing in this was so awesome, I was completely pulled in. Great details and character development. Solid story with an excellent pace that had me lost in their world. I really loved it. By the end I was left crying and laughing, it was just fantastic! Beautiful story!
