Jim Harbaugh schedules second satellite camp in Alabama for this summer

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh clearly plans to spend part of his summer vacation in Alabama.

On June 7, Harbaugh will conduct a satellite camp in Prattville for the second straight season. That's a day after his one-day camp in Madison at Bob Jones High School, which was announced last month. The back-to-back camps are open to high school players in grades nine through 12.

Prattville coach Chad Anderson confirmed to AL.com that Harbaugh will be back at his school in June.

Harbaugh's use of satellite camps, including one in Prattville last summer, has been controversial, with Alabama coach Nick Saban calling them "ridiculous." Last summer in Prattville, Harbaugh drew headlines when he went shirtless.

The camps ostensibly give Harbaugh a chance to recruit the Deep South. He snagged two Prattville players last season - running back Kingston Davis and linebacker Dytarious Johnson. Florence defensive back J'Marick Woods, a Class of 2017 prospect, committed to Michigan earlier this week.

Woods is currently the lone Alabama player on the Wolverines commitment list for 2017.

Harbaugh also hired Prattville assistant coach Antonio Richards as an analyst earlier this year.

Last year, Harbaugh's camp in Pratville drew more than 500 players, and there's currently no cap, Anderson said, on how many players can attend this summer.

Harbaugh just finished his first season at Michigan, and his recruiting class in February featured players from more than 10 states, including two from Alabama, one from Tennessee, one from Georgia and several from Florida.
