Ovum survey data shows the variety of different devices being used by employees in the enterprise

From an IT perspective, it's important that we understand the types of devices being utilized by those we support. The image above presents some data from Ovum’s 4th annual enterprise mobility survey that was conducted in late 2015. In gathering these results, we engaged with employees across a wide range of regions, industries and job roles in a bid to better understand their current working habits, and how new hardware and applications are supporting their efforts to remain productive. As the data shows, people want to undertake work across numerous devices, and they want limited frictions in being able to do this.

There is a need for the service desk and IT to build mechanisms that can help them recognize new opportunities that can be realized from such disruptors and consumerization behaviours – most notably in how to enable and support this digital workspace model that many employees are moving towards.
