Legit Italian: Can you identify these 13 pasta shapes?

STATEN ISLAND N.Y. --  So, Siri tells me that Marco Polo did NOT bring pasta back to Italy from China. In fact, pasta was invented by Italians and has long been a symbol of their pride in the culinary world.

Since then, over 400 types of unique pasta have been made throughout time, and here on The Rock, we certainly have an affinity for a select few that are a staple on Italian dinner tables.

But, how well do you really know the different types that exist -- and better yet -- do you know the proper Italian names?

We asked several people -- including Italian Chef Mario Gentile -- to name a few types of pasta we presented to them. Watch the video above to see how they did and test your own knowledge on these pasta names.

Difficulty levels range from easy, medium, and hard ... or al dente, as it were.
