Britain's biggest lotto loser sells world's most famous washing machine

It’s Britain’s most infamous washing machine – the devilish laundry device which destroyed Lotto gran’s Susanne Hinte’s chance at riches.

Or at least that’s what she said it did, until the real winner came forward.

But at least Hinte can console herself with a (slightly smaller) sum – having sold the offending machine for, er, £150.

That’s a small price to wash your clothes in a piece of history.

The 48-year-old claimed her £33million winning ticket was obliterated in the wash but no numbers were visible on the slip she handed in to lottery bosses.

Camelot were unable to verify the numbers and the real winner, who chose to stay anonymous, came forward.

Gran-of-four Susanne put the infamous washing machine on eBay hoping to raise £400 for the British Heart Foundation.

But in the end, it went for £150.

Speaking when she put the washing machine on the online auction site last week Susanne said: ‘I want to get rid of it. When I got home and saw it, bad memories came flooding back.

‘After all the trouble it caused, I want it to go.

‘I hope that selling the machine and donating the money will mean I can get my life back.’
