Due to rising costs of commercially available treatments, many a people are turning to home remedies or natural cures. Home remedies are as effective as the chemically treated medications that are so aggressively marketed. However, in most cases home remedies will come with the added advantage of being cost effective, and naturally free from repercussions of any kind. One of the most common ingredients found in home remedies is apple cider vinegar. Much like aloe vera, the contents of this natural treatment option has seen it become very beneficial in the treatment of a number of small health problems. But what exactly is apple cider vinegar? It is primarily a type of vinegar that is made via the fermentation of apple cider – which consists of the breaking down of the sugar in the apple cider with the help of the bacteria and yeast. The sugar will first be broken down into alcohol and then later into vinegar – causing it to become a cocktail of lactic, citric, malic as well as acetic acids.

While there are a number of other varieties of vinegar such as balsamic vinegar, red wine vinegar and rice wine vinegar, this is an exception where the vinegar is not really used as an aid in cooking – but was primarily created to help with the treatment of a number of medical complications.
